Onyx was under the impression his day couldn't get any worse ... until he saw his clearly irritated father standing between him and the way out. At the sound of footsteps Shadow looked up and allowed his ruby eyes to lock with his son's. He saw Onyx glance away and the black hedgehog used his arm to stop Onyx going round him.
"I don't know where you think you're going" Shadow muttered.
Onyx growled "this isn't the only way out you know"
Shadow smirked and laughed "I'm aware Onyx however I doubt you could beat me to them even if you had your emerald"
Onyx scowled "then I suppose you have it now"
Shadow smiled slightly "you assumed correctly"
Onyx's scowl deepened and he quickly grabbed Jo as he walked past before sliding Platinum of his shoulder and onto the surprised echidna's. Jo glanced at Platinum with concern but was prevented from asking any questions by Shadow watching him until he left. When the last of the group was gone Shadow turned back to Onyx and resumed blocking the way out.
"I warned you we'd talk" Shadow said calmly "and I've decided we'll do it now"
"There's nothing to talk about" Onyx muttered.
Shadow scowled "I don't believe you Onyx; you already mentioned something about Marie and then there was that comment you made to Zach"
Onyx growled but didn't meet Shadow's gaze "I don't need to explain myself to you"
Shadow growled to himself before forcing the younger hedgehog to look him in the eye "you and I could spend forever standing here refusing to talk, and if you really won't tell me what's going on then we will, however Onyx you are my son and last I checked you still lived with me so you'll find that I have every right to know what you do"
Onyx snarled "fine you want to know what happened while you were off doing nothing?!? I thought I was having a child with Marie then it turns out she was Lucifer's, when I found that out and confronted Marie she got him to turn up and me up down here for the last two months while he took my form and convinced everyone I know that he was really me" Onyx was growling when he was done.
Shadow stood there silently. His face expressionless but his hands were now balled into fists.
"Anything else Onyx?"
When the grey furred hedgehog went past this time Shadow made no move to stop him and simply gazed round the room. When he was sure Onyx was gone Shadow growled.
"You've made the wrong enemy Mephiles!"

Zara had wandered away from the main group and was now leaning against the cliff letting the day's events sink in. A soft rustling warned her she wasn't alone.
"I don't think you deserve what you have" Marie spat as she walked over to Zara "you do nothing and yet everyone loves you! Well here's some news princess, if I can't have Onyx then neither can you!"
Zara was surprised "Marie, Onyx and I aren't even going out!"
"Onyx and I were fine before you showed up" Marie growled.
Zara moved out the way of the kick Marie launched at her "Onyx didn't know who I was until after you'd broken up"
Marie's eyes were blazing "It's not fair! Everything is easy for you while I have to fight to get anything! Well not anymore! I'm getting rid of you so that Onyx doesn't have a choice!" with that said Marie leaped at Zara so the pair were now on the ground fighting
