"This isn't good" Beth cried as she flew over Mephiles "Are you seeing this Nano?"
The fox sighed "yeah do you think Shadow will hand over the emerald?"
"He better I think Mephiles is serious about hurting my mom" Beth whined.
Opal was also in the air with them "he has six of the emeralds he doesn't need to ask for the last one"
Jo was staring at Zach's battle with the clones "I think I'd better help Zach so he can help with Mephiles"
Libra sighed "I'll help then"
Lauren had now joined the main group and her eyes scanned the room "I can't see Platinum or Zara anywhere and Hover's gone too"
Jo sighed "Hold on"
He quickly went over to Zach and Laila.
"Zach mate leave them!" Jo called.
Zach stopped "what's going on?"
"We have a problem" Jo pointed to Mephiles.
Zach narrowed his eyes "That isn't Shadow is it?"
Jo shook his head "that's Mephiles"
"Ironic then that Lucifer chose to look like Onyx" Zach muttered.
"Not really" Onyx smirked "I am the best looking when you think about it"
Laila scowled "Not chance"
Onyx growled slightly "Oh great you joined his team?"
Laila smiled at him "yes I part of team now"
Onyx rolled his eyes "wonderful"
Laila turned and kicked a clone "want that be you?"
Onyx grinned "you wouldn't stand a chance"
Jo groaned "now where have I seen this before?"
"Onyx I thought you were trying to stop them" Zara called down.
Onyx seemed surprised "I forgot you were up there"
Zara flicked his ear lightly "remember me now?"
Onyx grinned "Yeah and thanks to you Zach looks awful"
Zach did look alarmed "Tell me you're not going to fight them Zara!"
Zara just shrugged.
Zach turned to Onyx "You're letting her do this?"
Onyx grinned "I can't stop her"
Zach growled "I can. Zara get off Onyx's back and keep out of the fight"
Zara didn't move. Onyx laughed.
"I think that's a no Zach" he called as he ran off towards the others.
Zach growled "I'm not letting him get my sister killed"
Jo stopped "shouldn't Platinum be stopping this?"
Zach shrugged "I don't know where he is"
Jo sighed as Laila ran past him "Zach you'll have to beat her to Onyx if you want a go"

Onyx scowled "he's out cold in a tunnel somewhere thanks to Nitro and Hydro"
Beth looked at her half brother "You can't honestly think you can stop Mephiles"
Onyx growled "I'm not going to stop him I'm just going to distract him so that we can get the emeralds away from him!"
Beth folded her arms "and by 'we' you mean?"
"Everybody here"
Lauren frowned "Do you think we could distract him?"
Onyx shrugged "Fighting with Lucifer's our best bet"
Inferno sighed "so if I'm right we're hoping Mephiles cares about his son enough to try and stop us while our parents ignore the fact we're in a fight and go and get the emeralds?"
"Looks like it" Zara grinned.
Inferno rolled his eyes "now I wonder what could go wrong with that"
Onyx scowled "you have a better plan?"
Inferno was silent. Onyx smiled "Let's go then"
