Life in the future pt87

Hover was surprised when Hydro was knocked off him but he didn't have time to be relived before Nitro leap for him. As the pair rolled on the floor the hawk saw his unexpected help had come in the form of Onyx; the grey hedgehog was dealing with Hydro easily. Hover twisted his neck to try and see Platinum and gave Nitro a chance to strike. Hover quickly recovered and used Nitro's strength against him just as Onyx leapt at him. After five minutes the twins were stood together grinning.
"It's been fun Hover" Nitro called "but I'm afraid we have to go"
"Cowards!" Hover yelled as they teleported away.
Once they were gone Hover rushed to see Platinum. Onyx went more slowly taking the time to look around for any more trouble. Everyone one else was absorbed in Mephiles or beating up copies which Onyx found rather unnerving. The only relief for him was that Lucifer was back in his own form. When Onyx reached the others he once again allowed Zara to sob into his chest while he stroked her hair. Will seemed exhausted.
"He's not dead" the porcupine muttered.
Onyx nodded, he could see Platinum breathing "he's been out a while though"
Will nodded "Matt would know what was wrong"
"He might but he's not here" Hover said bluntly.
Onyx watched his father carefully "Neither are we" he said as he stood up put Zara on his back and grabbed Platinum "they're going to fight and with the emeralds there this place is going to go down"
Onyx quickly lead his small group down one of the smaller tunnels. He walked until it's walls started to turn to metal then he put Platinum down.
"Never thought I'd do that" he muttered.
Will glanced back down the tunnel "We should try and stop them"
Onyx sighed "We? It's not exactly a good team Will.  You know some magic; if Zara joins the fight Sonic and Zach will try and get her out of it; Platinum's out cold and Hover is already hurt too much to be in a shape to fight."
Will stared at him "you can't do it alone"
Onyx smirked "We'll see! Any way I owe Lucifer for two months in a cell!"
Will sighed "You're insane"
Onyx smirked "I'm just strong"
Zara looked up at Onyx "Don't! They have the emeralds and you're out numbered"
Onyx winked at her "I like those odds"
Zara looked between Onyx and Platinum before settling her gaze on Onyx "I'm coming with you then"
Onyx shrugged "I can't stop you but if your brother tries to drag you off I'll be on his side" Onyx grinned "And you never thought that would happen"
Zara laughed as she jumped on Onyx's back again "Maybe you'll finally get on"
Onyx smirked "And maybe Eggman will rule the universe"
Zara rolled her eyes "he could one day"
Onyx snickered "sure he could"
"Let's just deal with this problem"
