Tails divided for the phone as soon as it rang.
"Hello?" it was Butter.
Tails sighed "Butter where are you?"
Butter sighed lightly "You might want to write this down..."

"Whoa!" Inferno yelped as he and Jo fell into the darkness. The purple hedgehog closed his eyes and waited to feel the floor beneath him. It never happened.
"Inferno? Jo?" A girl muttered gently.
Inferno opened his eyes to find himself staring at his older sister; she was stuck in a bubble that appeared to be made of darkness. Next to Lauren was Zach who was grinning weakly at Jo.
"Nice of you to drop in mate but I didn't really want to see you"
Jo chuckled softly "I'm afraid I couldn't stay away from you Zach."
Beneath Lauren and Zach was Zara, who appeared to be asleep and behind all of them was Onyx. He didn't not appear to be asleep, his grey fur was covered with ground in dirt and cuts and the bubble he was trapped in was the same blue-black colour as the others but lined with red energy that appeared to burn. Zach followed Inferno's gaze.
"Onyx caused the earthquakes fighting Nitro and Hydro"
Inferno paled "Is he..."
Zach shook his head "No Onyx and Zara won't wake up but they are alive"
"And they won't be waking up" A voice hissed from the dark room "not until I let them"
"I suppose asking you why we're here would be pointless" Zach said icily.
The creature snickered "All in good time prince Zach but not now; after all I don't want to have to repeat myself when the rest of your friends show up."

"Ok Shadow you know where we're going?" Amy asked for the third time.
Shadow scowled and nodded before pulling out his chaos emerald. Before Amy could say anything else she landed in a desert. Tails and Cream had already run over to Butter, Kay and Nano and Sonic was busy talking to a rather irritated Matt. Amy looked at the temple, it was huge!  To make it worst it appeared that only three of the kids weren't in it. It was at this point that Hover tore round the side of the temple on his board, Platinum running beside him. Both reached the group in a matter of seconds and found themselves in a crushing hug with Wave. Hover scowled and quickly slipped out of it. Platinum on the other hand seemed confused.
"Don't you two ever do that again!" Wave began but her anger seemed to have faded to relief "I was worried and so was Jet"
"What?" The hawk looked round at the mention of his name "nice race. I guess you two are getting faster"
Wave groaned, she'd thought Hover was hard work without adding his father into this in fact the most mature one of all was Platinum.
Knuckles was staring at the sealed door with amusement "Really they think a door will stop us?" he raised his fist and punched it but nothing happened.
Shade laughed "apparently" she said as she joined in. Sonic smirked and started to spin dash it while Rouge kicked it. Amy and Blaze sighed before joining in. Shadow just stood there looking bored.
"That's not going to work" He said duly.
"How do you know?" Sonic asked with a grin.
"I can sense the energy protecting it" Shadow said simply "That's why Matt and I can just by pass the door."
Matt looked up "Whatever is protecting the door needs to be taken down from the inside"

Beth and Opal looked round.
"Jamie!" Beth called.
"She shouldn't have hung so far back" Opal muttered.
"Jamie?" Beth called again as the light vanished "Opal!"
Beth heard a laugh before something grabbed her. She lashed out but this opponent was strong.
"Don't fight" it whispered "I'm taking you to your brother"

Beth looked round the strange room in alarm. Jamie,Opal,Zach,Lauren,Inferno and Jo stared at her from their prisons, Zara was still passed out and Onyx was...
"Onyx!" Beth screamed breaking free of her captors hold and running to her brother.
"I wouldn't waste your time" Lucifer growled.
Hydro grabbed her again "Yeah cutie he isn't worth it" he used his strength to turn Beth so she was facing him and leaned closer to her "I'm glad I got you last beautiful"
"Get of my sister!" A dark growl came.  
Everyone's eyes turned to Jo but the echidna shook his head. Hydro turned round slowly to find a pair of blazing red eyes fixed on him.
"Didn't you hear what I just said?" Onyx growled "No? Well you're not the sharpest so I'll repeat myself this once... Take. Your .Hands. Off. Beth!" Each word seemed to echo in the room.
"How?" Lucifer hissed.
"Y-You're trapped in there" Hydro teased with a smirk.
Onyx grinned darkly "Is that what you think?"
The white chaos emerald on the other side of the room began to shake. Onyx pushed his hands against the burning wall and watched as it shattered. Landing on his feet with ease the hedgehog laughed.
"Trapped am I?"
Hydro dropped Beth and backed off.
Onyx moved closer to Beth and hissed a single word "run!"
Beth spun on her heels and took off into the air as Onyx launched a chaos spear and Lucifer.
"Get Zara up now!" he demanded.

Shadow and Matt both froze as they felt the power escape from the temple and Shadow's emerald started to shake.
"What?" the ebony hedgehog muttered.

Beth shrieked as Nitro tried to grab her leg. She laughed a kick at him and threw him off as Lucifer growled "Leave her she doesn't matter!"
Onyx seemed to make this order final as he dived at Nitro knocking him down.

"Beth?" Rouge and Knuckles muttered as they heard the scream.
Shadow scowled "who else?"

Beth fled to the closed door and used her strength to cause a crack. She glanced behind her as she heard banging but seeing nothing she continued to try and break the door.

Onyx was busy fighting Nitro and Hydro as Lucifer appeared to have merdged with Onyx's shadow so he couldn't be hurt. As Onyx knocked down Nitro and grabbed his emerald, Lucifer growled in irritation and used all his power to knock Onyx back. They hedgehog flew into the wall where he slumped; unable to move. Zara's eyes fluttered open to sight.
"Onyx!" she cried.

Beth's efforts had been noticed outside the door and Knuckles had finished it off. With a strangled cry Rouge had pulled her daughter through the hole as the dark shield had dropped back down.
"Beth what happened?"
"Onyx!" Beth cried as she fell to the ground exhausted and drained, tear streaming down her face.

Lucifer eyed Zara with displeasure.
"Fine stay awake" He growled before moving over to Onyx "as for you, deal or not you're never waking up again!"
